Guy-Claude Mompoint, Psy. S., LSP, NCSP
Mr. Mompoint is a Licensed School Psychologist who has been practicing since 2011. His areas of expertise include academic, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental testing, providing services in both English and Haitian-Creole.
Guy-Claude Mompoint, Psy. S., LSP., NCSP, was born on a military base in Fort Polk, Louisiana and raised in Miami Florida. As a native, he is fluent in both English and Creole. After becoming a proud high school graduate, educated through Miami-Dade County Public Schools, he attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Mompoint then furthered his studies by attending a graduate program at Nova Southeastern University where he obtained a Specialist degree in School Psychology.
Mr. Mompoint has been working with The School District of Palm Beach County since 2011. Prior to his employment with PBCSD, Mr. Mompoint was a Science and Social Studies Teacher for Horace Mann Middle School working for Miami Dade County Public Schools four years. Mr. Mompoint has had extensive experience working with children and families with varying disabilities and socioeconomic backgrounds. Throughout his career, Mr. Mompoint has focused on comprehensive assessments that evaluate the academic, behavioral, and cognitive functioning and performance of students within the county. Mr. Mompoint has conducted psychoeducational evaluations for a variety of Exceptional Student Education disabilities including: Developmental Delay (DD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD), Intellectual Disability (InD), and Gifted. The information gathered from these evaluations are utilized to understand a child’s strengths and weaknesses in order to determine their optimal academic, behavioral, and cognitive needs. An understanding of these factors assists in providing the ideal accommodations and interventions to the educational environment to promote learning and a healthy and individualized educational experience [i.e. creating Individualized Education Plans (IEP)]. Mr. Mompoint In addition, Mr. Mompoint has worked as a Behavior Analyst for Positive Behavior Supports Corporation since 2018. As a Behavior Analyst he was charged with providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children subject to the student’s IEP. As well as creating and implementing replacement behavior goals and acquisition programs in the home and school environment.
Mr. Mompoint is steadfast in his pursuit of growing and developing his knowledge and experience base by attending professional development workshops and collaborating often with other experienced members in the profession. He is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP), and the Palm Beach Association of School Psychologist’s (PBASP). The information and collaboration gained from these professional development opportunities are invaluable in providing him with the most up to date strategies, interventions, and accommodations to better support students, families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
